This vineyard has a mix of traditional Austrian white grape varieties (Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Neuburger, Furmint, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Zierfandler, Rotgipfler, Sauvignon Blanc, and Gewürztraminer) that are fermented in used French oak (225L Chassin barrels) and used Stockinger Austrian oak demi-muids.
This single-vineyard Gemischter Satz hails from a south facing exposure in Vienna’s second highest elevation, the Kroissberg. The site is surrounded by a forest, creating a special microclimate. With 13 grape varietals in soil based on Dolomite limestone and a base of Flysch sandstone, the wine offers an elegant expression of the local terroir.
