Tasting Flight - Week of 2/23/26

Feb 23, 2026

Hi all!

With another mid-winter heat wave in the forecast for Los Angeles this week, we thought it felt right to pour a flight of wines from across Italy and the Mediterranean.

We start with a shop favorite sparkling wine: "Between Us," a rosé pét-nat of Sangiovese which comes from Emilia-Romagna in northern Italy.

From there we head south to western Sicily to revisit Nino Barraco's "Fior di Bianco," a light but pleasantly textured blend of Grillo, Catarratto, Grecanico, and Zibibbo.

Next up is a Casa Brecceto's "Nadar," a Fiano from Campania which sees four days of skin contact before aging in terracotta amphorae.

We return both to the Mediterranean and to Sangiovese for the final wine, the "Cuvée de l'Agriate" from Domaine Giacometti in northern Corsica. This is a rustic, somewhat fuller red from a unique Corsican variety called Nielluccio, which recent genetic analysis has shown is extremely similar—or even possibly identical—to Sangiovese.

Between Us Pét-Nat
Barraco 2024 "Fior di Bianco"
Casa Brecceto 2020 "Nadar" Bianco Fiano
Domaine Giacometti 2022 "Cuvée de l'Agriate" Patrimonio Rouge

The flight is $25 and is available anytime. Stop in to taste some wonderful wines and escape from the heat!

Cheers,
