Tasting Flight - 6/11/25
Hi friends!
This week we’re tasting four unique wines from across France:
Domaine Sérol NV “Turbullent” – A bright and light pét-nat of Gamay vinified in the Côte Roannaise in central France, near the source of the Loire River.
Domaine de la Sarazinière 2022 “Clos de Bruyères” Bourgogne Aligoté – Clean and expressive Aligoté from the Mâconnais in southern Burgundy.
Fabien Jouves 2024 “You F*** My Wine?!” – The irreverent name of this bottle is the winemaker’s response to French wine regulations, which don’t allow for the use of the grape variety Jurançon Noir in appellation wines from this part of southern France. Jurançon is blended with Malbec and Merlot here in a lighter, chillable expression.
Domaine Olivier Pithon 2023 “Mon P'tit Pithon” Rouge – A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre from Calce in the Roussillon, southern France. The winemaker sources grapes for this cuvée in partnership with a half-dozen friends who are organic growers in neighboring villages, so it’s no surprise that the resulting wine has a generous spirit and rustic warmth.
As always, it’s $25 to taste through the flight of four wines. We hope to see you!
