Hi friends!
This week we're tasting through a flight of wines from Poderi Colla, a producer based in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy.
We were lucky to welcome Andrea from Poderi Colla into the shop on Monday to pour several of their wines, tell us about the history of the estate, and discuss their winemaking practices. Poderi Colla strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, producing wines that are unmistakeable expressions of place—true to the history and spirit of winemaking in and around Barolo—yet also, in their vibrancy and irresistible drinkability, the result of a modern and undogmatic approach.
In this line-up, you'll taste the three main red grapes of Piedmont: Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. The wines increase in structure and body as you move through the flight, culminating in their powerful and expressive Barolo DOCG Bussia.
Poderi Colla 2021 "Pian Balbo" Dolcetto d'Alba DOC
Poderi Colla 2022 "Costa Bruna" Barbera d'Alba DOC
Poderi Colla 2022 "Drago" Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC
Poderi Colla 2019 "Dardi Le Rose" Barolo DOCG Bussia
As ever, it's $25 to taste through the wines.
We hope you'll join us!
