33% Malvasia Bianca (Skin-Fermented) Loma del Rio (Monterey County AVA / King City, CA)

Juicy Fruit is a chillable red wine featuring a duo of carbonic-macerated Montepulciano and skin-fermented Malvasia Bianca. Malvasia Bianca was one of the biggest storylines for the Wonderwerk 2022 vintage. This super-aromatic white grape has brought so much juicy terpene-laden flavor and aroma to our lineup this year; you’ve enjoyed our Malvasia as a minor component in Bustin’ Loose and Born Slippy. Juicy Fruit showcases this wonder-grape with even greater focus. This wine has the soul of a cherry cooler spiked with breezy rum punch. Juicy Fruit is a collaboration between Wonderwerk and Andre Power, the globe-trotting DJ, co-founder of Soulection, and founder of LINK UP WORLDWIDE.

Montepulciano underwent 2 weeks of carbonic maceration and emerged with nearly fully intact berries at the bottom of the tank under several tons of pressure from above, indicating a nearly fully-carbonic maceration and lending a strong carbonic character to the wine. Montepulciano was pressed to tank, fermented to dryness, and settled before racking to neutral oak barrels. The wine was aged in barrel for 8 months before blending with Malvasia Bianca. Malvasia Bianca was fermented on skins for 2 weeks and pressed to tank, settled, and then racked to neutral oak barrels. The wine was aged in barrel for 8 months before blending with Montepulciano. All barrel lots had 22 ppm sulfur added as KMBS during elevage and 10 ppm of sulfur as KMBS was added at bottling.
